Title: Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer (18-00219)
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Base Compensation: Open and Competitive
Travel: 60% - domestic and regional

Position Responsibilities:
  • Audit new suppliers
  • Execute the APQP process
  • Lead the Supplier Risk Assessment during RFQ phase
  • Analyze the quality aspects of supplier offers and provide quality recommendations by attending sourcing committee meetings
  • Deploy APQP during the development phase (Prototype; off tool; initials samples; ramp up)
  • Ensure that lessons learned are taken into account by suppliers
  • Ensure that suppliers' deliveries align with project expectations and are on-time
  • Ensure that the final customer specifications and standards are well-applied by suppliers in terms of product/process validations
  • Manage the process qualification (preproduction audit, process audit, Run at Rate)
  • Review the PPAP documentation and validate the initial samples in collaboration with the Plant SQE
  • Monitor the production performance until SOP+3 months, when responsibility passes to the plant SQE
  • Organize regular reviews of the SQE/ASQ network to share good practices and lessons learned
  • Provide support to Production sites upon request (supplier audit/visit)

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree, preferably with an engineering or technical focus
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in supplier quality management within the automotive industry
  • Focused on results with strong ability to communicate internally and with suppliers
  • VDA6.3 certification preferred
  • Strong practice of Quality Problems Solving Tools (8D, 5W, PDCA, ISHIKAWA)
  • Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization
  • Frequent travel (domestic and regional) will be required for this position, up to 60% of the time
