Position Responsibilities:
  • Someone who can coordinate and monitor assignments that are performed either in house or with a global design team (off-shore).
  • Able to work closely with the Engineers from India
  • Leads, directs, and participates in the day-to-day activities for the given job assigned. 
  • Designs need to be taken through completion of DWO's / PCN's / EWO's and assures thorough communication between engineering and design.
 
Position Requirements:
  • Develop design feasibility with engineers for functional and manufacturing capability.
  • Work closely with the assigned engineer to ensure all content is being covered.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction in regard to daily workflow procedures.
  • Evaluate, prepare and assign work and/or work flow to appropriate design personnel in a timely manner. Take corrective action when necessary. Provide input to Design Supervisor regarding status of pending work.
  • Maintain a Design Task Tracker / Open Issues spreadsheet as an aid to help monitor what needs to be done per part & to establish priorities (with engineering input).
  • Must maintain good communication with the program team. (i.e.; email, phone call, WebEx, Skype for Business, PowerPoint, etc...)
  • Maintain design timing schedule and check to insure there is no progress conflict.
  • May attend, initiate, and participate in program design reviews as needed.
  • Ensure that CAD data and/or product drawings are formatted to customer specifications.
  • Monitor that CAD file integrity is maintained and report back to the assigned designer with required corrections. Parts must be designed with the downstream users in mind.
  • Ensure that file naming conventions are being followed.
  • Ensure that CAD files are stored within the appropriate program folders.
  • Initiate Work Orders when required and follow appropriate workflow procedures.
  • May be required to coordinate more than one program (depending on program content).
  • Verify that the latest background data has been collected from the OEM PLM (i.e. TCe).
  • OEM TeamCenter knowledge recommended.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency recommended.
