Title: Cost Accountant – 18-00421
Location: Highland Park, MI
Pay rate :  $26.44/hr - $27/hr

Our client is seeking a Cost Accountant with 3-5 years of relevant experience along with Four year accounting degree or related field.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced computer skills that will include good Excel skills – VWALK and  Pivot Tables experience.
Will be responsible for various cost accounting functions and reporting.

  • Responsible for various cost accounting functions and reporting.
  • Work with the Quality Department to process all vendor charge backs.
  • Review all non-production purchase orders to ensure proper general ledger account coding.
  • Complete quarterly Sox testing requirements and report results to Plant Controller Complete the weekly Freight audit.
  • Monitor and update inventory standard costs.
  • Analyze sales prices and update to customer contracts.
  • Perform quarterly inventory standard roll, calculate the financial impact and keep all documentation.
  • Work with Corporate Shared Service team to resolve invoicing and PO issues on non-production purchases.
  • Work with the Materials department to ensure all new inventory parts are costed properly.
  • Maintain, and catalog weekly On Hand Adjustments Analyze the current PO costs vs. inventory standards to determine if adjustments need to be made.
  • Review and analyze PPV accounts.
  • Key part of the month-end close process.
  • Responsible for a number of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Reconcile intercompany purchases and book corresponding journal entries
  • Analyze and create the month-end accounts payable accruals
  • Complete account reconciliations
  • Other duties that include but not limited to projects and tasks as assigned by manager.
 Skills Required:
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results needed.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers 
Education Required: 
 4 year accounting degree or related field

    If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days, depending on customer payment terms
