Seeking a Dimensional Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience to assist with the U725 Ford program. The ideal candidate will possess experience with automotive seat system design and manufacturing processes, sheet metal stamping, and injection molding along with the ability to perform 2D & 3D tolerance stacks
This will be a long- term contract with our client who is  one of the world's largest suppliers of automotive interior systems and components including complete seating systems, electronic products and electrical distribution systems.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop datum strategies, dimensional specifications, and measurement plans.
  • Tolerance analysis to validate locating schemes and develop enablers for managing dimensional variation.
  • Review and approval of dimensional specifications, gaging methods, and measurement systems for external suppliers.
  • Complete deliverables to meet program milestones.
  • Drive dimensional improvement through innovation and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Interpret variable data to determine process capability.
  • Support plants in root causing dimensional issues.

Position Requirements:
  • Experience with seat system design and manufacturing processes, sheet metal stamping, and injection molding.
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and statistical process control.
  • Have 8 years minimum experience in Dimensional Engineering / Dimensional Control.
  • Have manufacturing experience.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook experience
  • Possess skillsets in GD&T related to ASME Y14.9 -2009 standard
  • Strong ability to understand, create, apply, and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
  • Ability to perform dimensional tolerance stack studies
  • Have the ability to perform 2D & 3D tolerance stacks?
  • VisView experience required
  • Gage design and build experience
