Title: Manufacturing Engineer (18-00503)
Location: Warren, MI
Pay Rate: $44-$48/hr.
Additional Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), company paid holidays and more!
Type of hire: Contract (6-7 months)
Shift: 2nd and 3rd (Evenings, Weekends, Holiday's as needed)
Travel: Minimum of 75%; Passport may be required for out of US travel
Number of Openings: 3
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops and coordinates timing of product design programs
  • Provides technical support for solving assembly plant problems
  • Conducts engineering activities for model year start of production programs
  • Evaluates design proposals
  • Coordinates overall engineering activities with other departments and/or divisions
  • Initiates and evaluates cost studies
  • Coordinates with vendors and/or customers
  • Writes technical reports and proposals
  • Reviews legislative and regulatory proposals or actions to determine impact on projects
  • Almost constant contact with others outside the work group
  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards 
Position Requirements:
  • One of the positions needs Powertrain/Propulsion background
  • Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Intermediate level
  • Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool – Intermediate level
  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
  • Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
  • Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
  • Expert knowledge of design, development and test engineering, manufacturing processes, assembly operations and Central Office functions
  • Relevant auto industry experience required
  • Areas of expertise include: Manufacturing, Assembly Process Required 
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
