Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and assembly department activities, performance and initiatives to ensure optimum level of output with the highest regards to safety. The ideal candidate will lead with a mentoring and direct approach ensuring that the systems, policies, and procedures are understood by all manufacturing employees and that the expectations and objectives of the business are accurately and diligently adhered to.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages, develops and directs the activities of the Lead Shift Supervisors with performance measure development, continual training and improvements to all facets of production operations.
  • Manage the interface between internal and customer requirements to agree on specifications and timing of all new product launches. Support production trial run activities from delivery to production. Coordinate and provide measures and proposals to achieve or exceed all production quoted targets and objectives providing feedback for improvements to all processes.
  • Provide integral support of new product launch, assemblies and systems by defining and coordinating requirements on new jobs and systems to ensure the supply of components are compatible in function and installation.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the processing and technical teams including die setting efforts. Develop best practices including scientific molding and SMED practices by training associates on methods to achieve expectations and ensure complete understanding of requirements to lead process improvements and provide inspection and performance results to the technical team.
  • Communicates and implements management change initiatives to all key members of the organization through HR correspondence including information provided to the Lead Shift Supervisors for shift meetings to ensure production employees understanding position objectives.
  • Functions as technical expert for and makes routine and sometimes precedent-setting decisions. Provides advice and counsel to the various departments including Manufacturing, Scheduling, Quality and Human Resources direction.
  • Maintains current understanding of industry or functional trends and builds on them to generate creative/innovative solutions to product and related technical issues.
  • Assists with planning and directing the layout of equipment. Ensures production follows appropriate workflow and assembly methods.
  • Performs all duties in accordance to company standards and ISO/TS 16949 Quality Procedures. Assist in the development and continuous improvement of operations in the plant and quality systems.
  • Maintains an appropriate level of conventionality and conformance in regard to the corporate culture. Relates well with others, including, as appropriate, peers, supervisor, subordinates, customers and suppliers while maintaining good attendance.
  • Assumes appropriate role(s) when working in a team environment and responds appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment.

Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of a 4 year business or technical degree or a combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or plastic injection molding environment
  • Preferred ability to troubleshoot injection molding equipment and molds with the Ishikowa discipline.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
