Position Summary:
The Plant Manager operates effectively as a leader with direct responsibility for manufacturing and key support operations. Duties will include performing continuous improvements in the areas of efficiency, quality, safety, customer service and leadership in order to deliver financial profitability for the plant. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations for the facility consisting of hourly non-exempt associates and salary exempt and non-exempt staff.  
Position Responsibilities:
  • Support operations overall business strategy by providing a high level of leadership, management and direction for the company's facility. Leadership and management style used to effectively motivate, develop, and guide the organization to achieving operational goals and objectives.
  • Work with the VP of Operations and the plant team to develop and administer operations strategy which will embrace the concepts, principles, and philosophies of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Establish and maintain the plant safety initiatives and policies. Foster an environment that provides a safe and environmentally responsible facility.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of inventory, materials, machines, and associates. Responsible for production costs, product quality, and modifying production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the facility. Coordinate production distribution, and warehousing in accordance with company policies, principles, and procedures established by the corporate headquarters.
  • Direct operations to ensure compliance with prescribed quality, cost, delivery, and other performance standards. Obtain planned results.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and effective customer relations.
  • Work with sales representatives to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
  • Maintain plant property and equipment in good condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and to ensure effective and economical operations.
  • Develop a high performance, leadership-oriented Production Team; train, develop, and motivate employees to maximize individual potential, achieve operational effectiveness, and ensure ongoing organizational capability.
  • Ensure all associates receive annual performance evaluations
Position Requirements:
  • At least three years as a Plant or Operations Manager
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related or technical field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ISO 9001-2008 knowledge.
  • Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing, Green or Black Belt knowledge.
  • Proven ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Proven comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing philosophies, operations, processes and related technologies.
Preferred skills and experience:
  • ISO 9001-2008 certified or trained
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Toyota Production Systems, RJG Training

If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days, depending on customer payment terms
