Product Development Engineer

This is a Direct/Permanent Position with a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier in the Northville, MI area.

Position Responsibilities Include:
  • Modify product specifications in accordance with product test results, vehicle test results, etc.
  • Implement application design by adapting original designs to meet customer requirements.
  • Review and issue internal drawings and customer drawings.
  • Develop evaluation plans and coordinate implementation.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, take countermeasures as needed.
  • Create and submit test reports to customers and departments as necessary.
  • Coordinate engineering promotional activities and prepare necessary material (presentation materials, samples, test vehicles, etc.)
  • Work with the sales department to develop sales strategies and prepare price quotes.
  • Investigate technical trends, market trends, product trends, governmental regulations, etc.
  • Benchmark assigned products.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant product design and development experience (automotive preferred).
  • CAD experience, Catia v5 preferred.
