Title: Project Buyer - Electronics (18-00222)
Location: Oakland County with multiple locations near Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and Pontiac, MI
Base Compensation: Very Competitive Based On Experience
Type of Hire: Direct
Position Responsibility:
  • Definition of BOM cost for the Initiative and assure the respect of the defined target until the end of product development
  • Support the R&D team and the Program Management in defining the product BOM for Direct Material
  • Conduct the negotiations for the selected components ensuring minimum prices or at least very competitive prices
  • Manage relations with Suppliers and guarantees the advances of technological developments and a strong response to LBE demands for logistics and quality
  • Support plant Buyer and Supplier Quality Engineers to overcome critical service (logistics and quality)
  • Perform the Purchasing process both for direct material for the product development (Prototypes) both for external engineering services, from the received offers' selection to the Business assigned according to the Commodity and from the order submission to the invoices payment
  • Follow-up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery;
  • Contribute to GIRC (Group Interfunctional Reduction Cost) activities cooperating with R&D team and Program Management
Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years in procurement / purchasing
  • Automotive experience required
  • MUST have experience purchasing ELECTRONIC components
Skills:
  • Detail oriented and able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Microsoft Office suite of programs with expertise in Outlook, Excel& Project
  • Demonstrable organizational skills to manage complex assemblies, timelines
  • Ability to work as a trusted team member on a multinational team in dispersed global locations
  • Formal training or prior experience with automotive requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
