This is a Direct/Permanent Position with a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier in the Northville, MI area. Our client is seeking a mid-level and senior level project engineer for embedded systems.

Position Responsibilities:
• Embedded Control Unit (ECU) Application design and product development or these support according to customer requirements, related parts specifications and design policy
• Support future software design localization tasks
• Create Hardware-in-the-Loop (HILs) simulation models and test script
• Support Drivetrain Engineering with automatic transmission system development and validation.
• Provide input to improve documented development processes and follow those processes.
• Support and conduct product development activities in cooperation with management to ensure all project milestones are met, including design and quality targets, according to Company Quality Management System.
• Help build software capabilities and support Lab activities.
• Support the ECU team in the creation of product roadmaps based on market, product and technical trends, governmental regulations, customer feedback from Sales Expansion activities, etc. And support the other electronics design teams as necessary.
• Assist Sales Engineers in the creation and/or explanation of technical materials related to our product design(s), competitive benchmarking analysis, etc. to promote the company's current or new technologies to potential and current customers in order to secure new business opportunities.
• Support technical independence by ensuring full integration and compliance of Design and Quality Management System, and propose system enhancements as necessary.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. (Master Degree desired).
• 3-10 years relevant experience in the automotive industry, preferably with a Tier1 supplier.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
• Process creation of system and software development based on Automotive-SPICE
• Basic proficiency with DFMEA, DRBFM, FTA and other design tool/methodology.
• Familiar with software development tools (compilers / debuggers) for embedded microprocessors.
• An understanding of software processes and accreditations such as Automotive-SPICE and CMMI.

Preferred Skills:
• Embedded System Design (Hardware and Software requirements analysis, specification creation, system testing and software release).
• Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, HIL Testing, CANoe, CANalyzer
• An understanding of functional safety and ISO26262.
• Proficient with electronic measuring equipment such as oscilloscope(s), digital multi meters, etc.
