Job Description

Title: Prototype Technician (18-00234)
Location: Novi, MI
Base Compensation: $14/hr

Type of hire: Contract
Shift: 3rd Shift (10am-6am or 11am-7am)
Openings: 3

Position Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate equipment to assemble and test prototype automotive speakers within the Novi Pilot Factory
  • Operate various assembly machines (Rivet, Staking, Robotic Glue Dispensers, Magnetizer, Torque Drivers)
  • Understand basic assembly drawings and bills of materials
  • Understand tool list and job instructions
  • Understand basic English & Metric mathematical conversions of dimensions and weights
  • Contribute to status reports
  • Follow material and quality control procedures
  • Solder terminals per quality standards
  • Provide support to Material Control Technician in picking and returning parts to stock
  • Pack products protectively so avoid damage

Position Requirements:
  • Knowledge of MS Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in Electronics or related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Able to adapt to changing demands and conditions
  • Providing exceptional service and quality to external and internal customer
  • Certified or can demonstrate competency in IPC610 soldering standard
  • Experience basic manufacturing and test equipment
