Title: Regional Supplier Quality & Development Manager (18-00275)
Location: Troy, MI
Base Compensation: Open and Competitive

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead SQ&D Engineers in ensuring product and process compliance by providing guidance and direction with regards to proactive supplier quality system audit / implementation and customer requirements.
  • Advanced & Serial Phase: Lead the individuals who are responsible for facilitating new supplier assessment / improvement plans, and facilitating resolution of all Supply Chain critical issues in serial production. Continue enhancing Key Criteria for supplier evaluation.
  • Project Phase: Lead the individuals who are responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the execution of supplier APQP ensuring on time PPAP submission within quality targets encompassing all aspects of supplier readiness – 100% on time PPAP submission / approval + Run @ Rate.
  • Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders (Operations, Corp. Quality, and Engineering) to execute supply base improvement plans and meet customer requirements. Promote cross-functional approach.
  • Provide leadership to solve supplier challenges to ensure success and customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritize schedules of current and potential new supplier audits / approval process as well as oversight for corrective action plans.
  • Lead and manage supplier escalation issues including management reporting.
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement programs (Top Focus Supplier – TFS) with poorly performing suppliers.
  • Attract, develop and mentor diverse talent in Supplier Quality and Development organization.
  • Define ideal skill sets for the organization. Analyze current team member's strengths and re-organize accordingly.
  • Provide and execute short and long term staffing plan based on business needs (resource and budget planning).
  • Provide operational support and act as a go-to person for the regional SQ&D team.
  • Support developing, implementing, and executing proactive supplier risk profiling to identify and eliminate potential supply risks.
  • Support developing and implementing management reporting tools for in-crisis suppliers and proactive risk monitoring.
  • Promote and execute the global supplier performance escalation process.
  • Support developing standard global supplier management tools.
  • Support further development of Key Performance Indicators for the SQ&D Team. Evaluate current state. Define goals (KPI targets) to achieve and track the progress.           
Position Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Masters degree preferred)
  • 10-15 years' experience in supplier quality and/or development
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in supervising/managing a team
  • Minimum 4-6 years' experience in plant operations preferred
  • Expertise in problem solving methodology required
  • Experience with quality system implementation
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Program Management
  • Certification in problem solving (Six-Sigma and/or Red-X techniques)
  • Quality Certification (CQA/CQE) or EOQ Quality System Manager

If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days, depending on customer payment terms
