Position Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the design and development of an Automotive Flooring/Acoustics product or product family
  • Interfaces with customer, corporate and plant team members regularly to assure product design meets the needs of all stakeholders
  • Ensures efficient use of manufacturing processes, materials and personnel are utilized
  • Initiates company change process to investigate and implement customer-driven or internal change activities
  • Manages product testing for Quality Assurance and recommends product changes as necessary to assure specification conformance
  • Aids in developing and accessing product improvement and/or cost savings initiatives
Position Requirements:
  • Must be able to speak/read/write Japanese fluently
  • BS/BA required
  • 5-10 years of product engineering experience (preferably automotive)
  • Knowledge of flooring and acoustic products or compression/thermal forming process
  • Understands OEM develop process and deliverables, including completion of necessary documentation.
  • Experience in design development, able to provide design direction and evaluate the design for tooling and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Capable of clear and concise communication of technical issues.
  • Able to provide support at internal and customer manufacturing locations as necessary.
  • Familiar with Microsoft programs and web-based applications
  • Product launch experience
