Title: Shipping Dock Supervisor

Pay Rate: $18-20/hr

Type of hire: Long-term Contract 
Shift: Rotating Shift - Day shift 5:30am to 3:00pm (inc 30 min unpaid lunch); Afternoon shift 2:30pm to midnight (inc 30 min unpaid lunch) (Mon to Fri - 5 days per week - 9 hours per day)
Position Responsibility:
  • Maintains and improves safety and workplace organization standards
  • Responsible for receiving & shipping material, operating supermarkets, and delivering material to production
  • Managing PRM (process risk management) for all receiving and shipping process and procedures
  • Supervising and coaching hourly employees
  • Controls budgetary costs
  • Maintains accurate and timely flow of material
  • Implement, maintain and adhere to Client process and procedures
  • Maintains a positive relationship with the UAW and supervises within the guidelines of the Local and National Agreements
  • The UAW workers this candidate will oversee will operate fork trucks, loading and unloading trucks
  • This individual will oversee a small team of UAW employees
  • This candidate will be responsible for managing the incoming and outgoing of materials
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma is the minimum education requirement (with a strong experience background). The manager prefers a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of warehouse supervisory/leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment  
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching ability
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Strong background in material management process control
  • High level of analytical ability
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Production control, manufacturing, and supervisory experience
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Warehousing experience
  • Self-starter, willing to tackle problems head-on
  • Able to work with little direction
  • Knowledge of quality control systems
  • SAP knowledge

If you are able to refer a person we do hire, we can offer up to $250 for contractors after they are on the job for 90 days and up to $500 for direct hires after they are on the job between 90 days to 180 days, depending on customer payment terms
