Title: Vehicle Integration Technician (18-00400)
Location: Novi, MI
Base Compensation: $15-$17/hr.

The Vehicle Integration Technician is responsible for integrating our head units with the interior trim. You will need to know how to build/repair wiring harnesses, read schematics, know how to solder, etc. In addition, you will also need experience working with the different LAN protocols and using test equipment like oscilloscopes and multi-meters. You will also be driving the test vehicles occasionally.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Primary purpose of the Vehicle Integration Technician is to perform infotainment system integrations, and installations of data loggers and cameras.
  • Utilize basic hand tools to de-trim interiors of vehicles.
  • Build and repair wiring harnesses and antenna cabling.
  • Modify existing OE electrical architectures and create solutions to integrate next generation infotainment platforms for testing.
  • Work with external fabrication shops to achieve aesthetically pleasing integrations.
  • Troubleshoot issues with system components.
  • Use test equipment, such as an oscilloscope and digital multi-meters.

Position Requirements:
  • Two year technical diploma; or a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 2+ years' of experience in job-related activity.
  • Strong computer hardware and networking skills and use of Microsoft Office productivity software.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical troubleshooting techniques. ? Must have good communication skills and interface well with others.
  • Must be able to hear full range audio frequencies to determine abnormal variations.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and clear driving record in order to perform drive testing using customer owned vehicles.
  • Knowledge of cabling and wiring standards and best practices.
  • Strong soldering skills.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and schematics to complete vehicle integrations.
  • Basic familiarity with vehicle LANs including MOST, eMOST, GMLAN, CAN, AVCLAN, etc.
