Title: Warranty Analyst

Pay Rate: $25-28/hr

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday – Friday)
Position Responsibilities:
  • Work involves functioning as lead role in facilitating warranty cost recovery for parts sourced under GM's Ordinary Warranty Terms (OWT). Primarily responsible for execution of all elements related to OWT.
  • Considerable initiative, attention to detail and organization is required. Independent judgment is required with some direction from the supervisor.
  • Function as liaison between GM Engineering, Supplier Quality, Purchasing and Manufacturing to drive a firm GM position for supplier allocation of warranty costs in order to execute cost recovery from Suppliers utilizing the Partlink system.
  • Lead cross functional activities with Engineering and QRD teams to review warranty return parts and part data to facilitate final sample dispositions.
  • Execute Pareto analysis of warranty data for greatest cost recovery opportunities.
  • Resolve disputes related to recovery groups, technical factors, and billing statements.
  • Support warranty claim Transaction Maintenance activities within Partlink as required.
  • Track and communicate status of cost recovery results.
  • Help to remove roadblocks and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain required documentation. 
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree - Engineering Degree preferred
  • Strong drive for results and individual motivation.
  • Ability to work in Excel to analyze cost and claims data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead teams to consensus when needed.
  • Negotiation skills
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead teams to consensus when needed.
  • Ability to put PowerPoint presentation together
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems. 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, Finance, Purchasing or Engineering
  • Knowledge of GM Purchasing / Engineering / QRD processes
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes
  • Ability to understand & interpret warranty data.
